Stories of Hope
As imperfect people living in an uncertain world, the constant we can rely upon is the faithfulness of God! The stories of hope through the ages are great reminders of God’s faithfulness, to awaken faith even for what we may be going through today.
Abraham

At 75, Abraham was childless but received a promise from God that he would be the father of many nations. At 100, his son of promise – Isaac was born.
Moses

Though Moses had been chosen to deliver his people from slavery, he found himself dejected and defeated in the desert. God met him in that place, revealed his purpose and enabled him to successfully fulfill the mission.
Ruth

As a young widow, Ruth arrived in Israel as a stranger. Her love for God and his people released divine favor, bringing her into the royal and Messianic ancestry.
Job

Job was in a season of trial and everything was taken from him – his health, wealth and even his family. He remained unwavering in his trust of God’s goodness, and experienced the abundant restoration of God at the end of his testing.
Joseph

As Joseph faced one injustice after another, he remained faithful to God. Through it all, God was working out a bigger purpose – to make him ruler of Egypt and preserve His people through the severe famine that was to come.
Esther

As a commoner, God favored Esther to be selected as queen of the land. In her new position of authority, she risked her life to save her people from complete destruction.
Jacob

While God had a great destiny for Jacob, he was scheming his way through life. When he finally encountered God, it left him humbled to persevere with God.
David

As a young shepherd boy, David was anointed to be king. From killing the giant Goliath to overcoming the perils as a fugitive to seeing his promise fulfilled, David’s story is one of great courage and unshakeable faith in God.
Mary

The angel Gabriel met young Mary with a message that she had been chosen to give birth to Jesus through the Holy Spirit. Though initially shaken, she quietly responded, “Be it done to me according to your word”, and had the privilege of seeing God’s amazing plan, fulfilled through her life.
Paul

Being extremely zealous for his beliefs, Paul’s only desire had been to silence the people of God. But his direct encounter with Jesus on the road to Damascus, changed everything as he turned around completely and became one of the greatest apostles of God.
