Christmas

The Season of Christmas

The promise of Isaiah 9:6 fulfilled through the birth of Jesus continues to illuminate hearts with fresh hope each Christmas season, reminding us that our challenges are no match for the One who came to be our Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, and Prince of Peace.

There is an innate desire within each of us to be loved and valued by those around us. But human love can fall short, but God’s love unconditional. “For God so loved the world, that he gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him, should not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16)

Mary burst out in praise as she accepted God’s divine plan unfolding through her life. While it’s not always easy to praise God, taking time contemplate the birth of Jesus, and what that means to us, can draw us into a spirit of praise too!

“Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, goodwill toward men.” (Luke 2:14) As we see conflict and chaos in the world around us, we may wonder about this promise of peace. But thank God, he has made a way for true and lasting peace for us through Jesus.

“Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and they shall call his name Immanuel” (which means, God with us) Matthew 1:23. God is as present with us today as He was in that Bethlehem manger 2000 years ago, so we never have to go through anything alone.

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life (John 3:16). This verse beautifully captures God’s plan of salvation for humanity. God showed his love for all people by sending Jesus, and invites us to an eternal relationship with him.

“The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.” (Luke 18:27) The God who performed the miracle of the virgin birth at the first Christmas is still performing miracles today. Let us keep trusting him to come through in those impossible situations we are facing today.
